This is a photo of the type of dog that attacked my Beagle. The breed is an Australian Cattle Dog. On Friday April 7th at aprox. 4:45 pm I was in my front yard at 6180 Drake street with Fred (my Beagle), Fred was tethered and lying on the grass.
A man aprox 40-45 years old dark hair, a salt and pepper colored beard, dark sunglasses aprox 5' 11" to 6' tall, wearing grey shorts and a black Hawaiian shirt whom also walked with a limp (left leg) was walking a dog of the type pictured above. He was headed north on Marian when his dog came at my dog and attached himself to my dogs stomach. My dog did not even fight back, the man yanked his dog away and proceeded to walk away. I immediately noticed that my dog had been injured as he was bleeding, and I yelled to the man to stop. "

He continued to walk away. He rounded the corner of Marian & Drake (I live on this corner). By this time my dog was lying by my front door panting and bleeding, my daughter (9 yrs old) was hysterical and I continued to try to engage this man in conversation. I asked him if he had any intentions on staying and giving me his name, phone number and address, he looked me straight in the eye and said "no". I told him that my dog was seriously injured and needed to be seen by a vet, the man again said "no" and left headed east on Drake. I called 911 and the Jupiter police department arrived 25 minutes later. Obviously the man and his dog were long gone. I then took my dog to the vet where he was sedated and sewn back together. The vet bill was $473.00, Fred and my daughter are now frightened to go in the front yard.
The Jupiter police have told me that Animal Control can not do anything until I know who this man is, just as I can not take him to small claims unless I know who he is.
