Silent Film Fest - Friday, April 20 at 3 pm. The PBIFF and the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Free at Three Series will pay tribute to the greatest silent filmmaker of all time, Charlie Chaplin. 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of his death, so in honor of this legendary filmmaker, the festival will present The Gold Rush. Today, The Gold Rush appears as one of Chaplin’s most perfectly accomplished films. The first true western, the 1903 Great Train Robbery will screen just prior to The Gold Rush. The screenings will be hosted by film professor and historian Martin Leichter.
