| Pooh's Heffalump Movie |
moviecritic writes, "When the citizens of Hundred Acre Wood hear a troubling rumbling in the distance, they decide to investigate, insisting that an evil Heffalump (a purple elephant-like creature) is nearby. When young Roo is excluded from the expedition due to his age, he tears off into the mysterious woods anyway, meeting up with Lumpy, a baby Heffalump out having fun. At first fearful and guarded around Lumpy, Roo soon befriends the Heffalump, and the two become close buddies. However, the friendship is tested when Pooh and the gang make their way into Heffalump territory, looking to trap anything they find."

| Aliens of the Deep |
moviecritic writes, "It's become clear over the last seven years that James Cameron never really enjoyed making fictional motion pictures. Once flush with cash and power from the ginormous success of 1997's "Titanic," Cameron went underground (sometimes literally) to fashion himself a Jacques Cousteau-type of adventure character for the new millennium, armed with state-of-the-art camera equipment, expensive submersibles, and the massive power of the Imax (and other large-format theaters) sound and vision."

| The Polar Express |
moviecritic writes, "When a young boy loses all belief in the holiday spirit and Santa Claus, a mysterious train pulls up to his house on Christmas Eve to take him away to the North Pole to witness Santa's launch. At first reluctant to embrace the magic of the moment, the train's perilous journey, budding friendships with his fellow passengers, and sage advice from the Conductor (performed by Tom Hanks), shake the young boy into the hope that the Christmas spirit could possibly be true; all the while leading him into fantastical misadventures during the journey. | Ladder 49 |
admin writes, "When a battle against a fire goes wrong at a critical moment, fireman Jack Morrison (Joaquin Phoenix) is sent into the middle of the chaos alone, with only thoughts of his past to keep him company until help arrives. Jack remembers his first days as a rookie at the firehouse with his firefighting brothers (including Robert Patrick, Morris Chestnut, Billy Burke, and Balthazar Getty), his marriage to Linda (nicely played by Jacinda Barrett, 'The Human Stain'), the children they have together, and his special bond with his captain (John Travolta), who arrives on the scene heartbroken that Jack is the one the company must save this time. | I Heart Huckabees |
admin writes, "Albert (Jason Schwartzman, 'Rushmore') is thrown into a coincidence crisis when he comes upon a 7 foot Sudanese man three times in one day. Troubled, Albert seeks out Bernard (Dustin Hoffman) and Vivian (Lily Tomlin), a pair of existential detectives who proceed to trail Albert in his daily life to figure out his quandary. What the pair discovers instead is Albert's frustration with Brad (Jude Law), a callous exec for the department store chain Huckabees, who wants to help Albert in his fight to save the local environment (with the help of Shania Twain and Pete Sampras), but also wants to further his career. Falling into an abyss of self-loathing, Albert and the detectives try to solve his philosophical problems while fending off a scheming French radical (Isabelle Huppert), embracing another distressed client (Mark Wahlberg), and lusting after Brad's girlfriend and Huckabees spokeswoman Dawn (Naomi Watts), who wants to learn a thing or two about her own infinite nature. | The Notebook |
moviecritic writes, "Every day, Noah (James Garner) visits a lonely lady named Allie (Gena Rowlands), who resides in the same nursing home and is suffering from Alzheimers. Noah reads Allie passages from a notebook he keeps, of a love story he holds dear to his heart. The story rouses Allie's imagination more than any pill or doctor ever could. As Noah reads from the notebook, the images of the story, featuring two young lovers (Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling) through their trials and tribulations, appear as a part of a puzzle that Ally anxiously tries to figure out."

| Open Water |
moviecritic writes, "OPEN WATER is an ok thriller but hardly deserving of the maniacal praise coming from the advance press. It's another Blair Witch hoodwink.
Yes, it sure is scary to be left in the water and it's horrible to think this actually happened but as a movie: the acting is at times REALLY bad. I think more seasoned actors could have raised the terror level because I spent a lot of the time marveling at certain stiff line readings. Not helping matters is the fact that there's really not a lot of room for dialogue and conflict with two people floating in water for hours and hours. The "Are you blaming me for this???" conversation is unintentionally embarrassing. "
