2004 Sept 26th, Hurricane Jeanne hits just north by 25miles with 120mph winds. Many trees down power outages for days. Second hurricane hit in 22 days as area felt most winds from the west.

• 1928 sept 17th heavy damage 4 killed in Jupiter, eye lasted longest over jupiter &as Hurricane moved NW were under northern eye.
• 1933 sept 3rd bar 27.98 125 mph heavy damage
  august 26th 1947 a cat 4 hits broward large storm surge hits area hard
• 1949 132mph & 1 min gust to 153 mph very heavy damage many roofs blown off as many as 40% luckily only reports of 2 killed.
• 1950 oct 18th hurricane King 25 miles inland to the west with 80mph winds causes heavy bch erosion
• 1964 aug 27th hurricane cleo hits from the south just west of here with 85mph winds causing minor damage here
• 1964 Hurricane Isabell hits from the SW with 115mph winds Oct 15 as she maintained her intensity even after hitting the west coast
• 1979 Sept 3rd hurricane david hits with winds gusting to 85mph a 5 ft storm surge press 28.71 minor damage

• 1999 Oct 16th hurricane Irene hits with 75mph winds press 19.12 reports of many trees & powerlines down.
• 2004 Sept 5th, Hurricane Frances hits with 105mph winds. Many trees down,signs damaged power out for days a very large & slow moving hurricane.Some roof damage in North part of county.
• 2004 Sept 26th, Hurricane Jeanne hits just north by 25miles with 120mph winds. Many trees down power outages for days. Second hurricane hit in 22 days as area felt most winds from the west.
