Mood Tequesta closing: Mood, the Tequesta restaurant known for its vegan cuisine, announced in mid-June that it will permanently close after years of serving the community.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the owners said the decision came after “much thought and many sleepless nights,” explaining that despite their passion for the restaurant and determination to keep it open, there simply hasn’t been enough business to sustain operations.
“When we opened our doors, we dreamed of creating a place where people could gather, celebrate, connect, and enjoy great food together,” the owners wrote. “Over the years, Mood became so much more than a restaurant. It became part of our lives and part of this community.”
The owners said they fought hard to avoid closing, but like many independent restaurants, Mood ultimately could not continue operating at a loss.
“Independent restaurants can only survive when enough people continue to walk through the doors,” they shared. “Despite our best efforts, we have reached a point where there simply has not been enough business to sustain the restaurant.”
Mood Tequesta closing draws community response
The announcement prompted an outpouring of support from customers, many sharing memories of meals, celebrations, and the restaurant’s impact on the local community. Since the announcement of Mood Tequesta closing, many customers have continued to express their appreciation for the restaurant’s impact on the local dining scene. One customer commented:
“The restaurant business is tough… I loved your little place, the food was great, and I’m sure you’ve made a lot of people realize that vegan food can be brought to the next level. Thanks for your dedication.”
The restaurant says it hopes customers will stop by one last time to share a meal, raise a glass, and celebrate the memories made over the years. The owners reflected on the birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, family dinners, holiday celebrations, and countless conversations that filled the restaurant, saying the hardest part isn’t saying goodbye to a business—it’s saying goodbye to a place filled with memories.
