Celebrate International Bat Night with an evening adventure through Riverbend Park in Jupiter during Bats After Dark: Night Hike on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Led by a park naturalist, this guided dusk hike will introduce participants to Florida’s bats, their unique behaviors, and the important role they play in the ecosystem as insect eaters and pollinators. Guests may also spot other nocturnal wildlife becoming active as the sun goes down.

As daylight fades, participants will head out on the trails with a naturalist to learn about the bats that call Florida home.
Along the way, you’ll discover:
- 🦇 Florida bat species and their behaviors
- 🦟 How bats help control insect populations
- 🌸 Their role as pollinators
- 🌙 Other wildlife that becomes active after sunset
What to Bring
Participants should come prepared for an evening walk and bring:
- 👟 Closed-toe walking shoes
- 💧 Water
- 🔦 Flashlight
- 🦟 Insect repellent
Space is limited, and registration must be completed in advance through Palm Beach County Parks’ online registration system. Simply marking “Interested” or “Going” on social media does not reserve a spot. First-time participants may need to create a household account, and all attendees are required to sign a program participation waiver.
