What started as a move to be closer to family has turned into a thriving local business rooted in fashion, friendship, and community.
For Nasheema, co-owner of ZOË Palm Beach Gardens, the journey began in 2020 when she and her husband—a Jupiter native—left New York for South Florida. While the move brought them closer to family, it also opened the door to an unexpected new chapter.
Before relocating, Nasheema spent years working in New York as a fashion stylist and in wholesale for several designer brands. After settling into Jupiter, she returned to her passion by launching a personal styling business, helping women throughout Palm Beach County build wardrobes that fit their lifestyle and personal style.
As her client base grew, one introduction changed everything.
A client introduced her to Lisa, a longtime boutique owner and fashion industry veteran who had owned ZOË in Princeton, New Jersey, for more than 30 years. The two quickly discovered they shared a vision for creating a unique shopping experience, and together they opened ZOË Palm Beach Gardens.
Their partnership brought together two different strengths. Nasheema had built strong relationships throughout the local community and understood the South Florida customer, while Lisa brought decades of experience in fashion, merchandising, and buying, along with relationships with some of the industry’s top designers.
From the beginning, the partners envisioned more than just another clothing boutique. Their goal was to create a shopping experience centered around thoughtfully curated collections from designers around the world, with a focus on resort dressing and distinctive pieces customers won’t find just anywhere.
New arrivals are added weekly, and the boutique typically displays only one size of each style on the sales floor, creating a constantly changing collection and encouraging shoppers to purchase pieces they love before they’re gone.
But for Nasheema, success isn’t measured only by what’s on the racks.
She wanted ZOË Palm Beach Gardens to become part of the local community, partnering with charities, schools, and nonprofit organizations to support causes throughout Palm Beach County.
Within a year, ZOË Palm Beach Gardens became a reality.
As a small business owner, Nasheema says you’ll find her at the boutique most days, welcoming customers, helping women discover their personal style, and creating the kind of shopping experience she envisioned from the beginning.
For her, ZOË Palm Beach Gardens is about more than clothing—it’s about building relationships and making every customer feel comfortable, confident, and welcomed when they walk through the doors.
“The support we’ve received from the community during our first year has been overwhelming, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” Nasheema shared.
As Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens continue to welcome new businesses and entrepreneurs, stories like Nasheema’s are a reminder that many local businesses begin with a leap of faith—and a desire to build something meaningful within the community.
