Juno Beach Pier Refurbishment Update: What Visitors Need to Know

Visitors to the Juno Beach Pier may notice construction activity as a major refurbishment project continues along one of Palm Beach County’s most recognizable landmarks.

The Juno Beach Pier refurbishment project is expected to take six months and represents an investment in the future of the pier, improving the structure while keeping as much of it accessible to the public as possible throughout construction.

Renovations are already underway, and the project recently reached its first major milestone with the completion of the pier’s iconic “T” section at the eastern end of the structure.

What’s Being Renovated?

The project includes a full replacement of the pier’s floorboards and railings as part of a comprehensive refurbishment effort.

While visitors will see significant work taking place on the pier itself, no paving work is currently planned.

The goal is to enhance the long-term safety, durability, and appearance of the pier while preserving the experience that has made it a favorite destination for anglers, walkers, photographers, surfers checking conditions, and beachgoers.

Will the Pier Close?

One of the most common questions from visitors has been whether the pier will be completely closed during construction.

At this time, the plan is to keep the majority of the pier open by completing the work in sections rather than shutting down the entire structure.

The pier has been divided into 34 separate sections for construction. Work began at the iconic “T” section at the eastern end of the pier and will gradually move west toward the entrance.

Project planners say this approach helps reduce wear and tear on newly completed sections by limiting the need to move construction equipment across finished work.

If weather, equipment issues, or other unforeseen circumstances require changes to the plan, updates will be provided by pier staff.

First Major Milestone Reached

The first major phase of the project has already been completed.

As of last week, the “T” section at the end of the pier officially reopened following renovations. Visitors can now enjoy the newly improved area while work continues on the remaining sections.

Pier staff thanked visitors for their patience during construction and said they are excited to see the project continue taking shape in the months ahead.

Sea Turtle Season Considerations

Construction activity is being limited to daylight hours in compliance with sea turtle nesting season requirements, helping minimize impacts on local wildlife during one of the most sensitive times of the year for Florida’s beaches.

Where to Get Updates

Juno Beach Pier staff are working closely with contractors throughout the project and plan to provide regular updates as construction progresses.

Visitors can follow updates through the Juno Beach Pier website and social media channels, where staff will share progress reports, construction impacts, and any schedule changes.

Jupiter Daily will also be following the renovation and sharing major milestones, construction updates, and photos as the project moves forward. Be sure to check back with Jupiter Daily online and on social media for the latest local coverage.

Looking Ahead

While construction may create temporary inconveniences, county officials view the renovation as a long-term investment in one of Palm Beach County’s most popular coastal attractions.

With the first section now complete and work moving steadily toward the shore, visitors can expect to see continued progress throughout the summer and fall as improvements continue across the pier.

For now, the views, fishing, and ocean breezes remain—with a refreshed Juno Beach Pier gradually taking shape one section at a time.
