Runner at sunrise on Jupiter beach with palm trees

Within 10 miles of Jupiter, there is a free, drop-in group run on almost every day of the week: sunrise beach miles on Sundays, a Riverwalk 5K on Thursdays, and a Wednesday night run that ends with a free beer. Here is every one of them, with the address of the meeting spot.

No sign-up sheets, no race fees, and, with one noted exception, no membership dues. These are the regular group runs Jupiter-area runners actually show up to, from Jupiter south through Juno Beach to Palm Beach Gardens.

Jup Social Run Club — Wednesdays, 6:00 pm — Free, drop-in. Guanabanas, 960 N Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477. The most social run on this list. The group heads out from Guanabanas on an out-and-back route south along A1A to beach access 57. Turn around whenever you like, so the distance is entirely up to you. All paces are welcome, and runners get a ticket for a free draft beer when they get back.

Fun Runners — Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 pm — Free, drop-in. Loggerhead Park, 14200 US Highway 1, Juno Beach, FL 33408. A free run group serving the Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter area, covering 3 to 5 miles from Loggerhead Park. Show up for a run first; afterwards the group adds newcomers to its Facebook group, which is where week-to-week updates are posted.

Golden Hour Run Club — Sundays, meet 6:15 am, run 6:30 am — Free, no sign-up. Golden Juicery, 4050 US Highway 1, Suite 314, Jupiter, FL 33477. The sunrise option. Golden Hour meets outside Golden Juicery and runs Beach Road with 3-mile and 5-mile options, all paces welcome, finishing back at the shop just as it opens. On the last Sunday of the month, the group stretches it into a 10-mile long run.

Counter Current Run Club — Last Saturday of the month, 8:00 am — Free, women only. Golden Juicery, 4050 US Highway 1, Suite 314, Jupiter, FL 33477. A women-only, all-paces beach sunrise 5K, also meeting at Golden Juicery. After the run the group stays for coffee and a short devotional. It only happens once a month, so put the last Saturday on your calendar rather than in your weekly rotation.

Palm Beach Roadrunners — Saturdays, 6:00 am — Membership club. Dunkin’, Plaza La Mer, 803 Donald Ross Road, Juno Beach, FL 33408. The exception that proves the free rule, and worth including anyway. Palm Beach Roadrunners is the county’s big, long-running club, and its Saturday morning run from the Dunkin’ in Juno Beach is the closest of its weekly runs to Jupiter. Standard individual membership is listed at $40 per year. It is a membership club rather than a free drop-in, so check the club’s current schedule page before your first visit for that week’s route. Park in the large lot west of Dunkin’, leaving the spots in front clear for weekend customers. Distances run from 5 to 20-plus miles, with an out-and-back format, so you can choose your distance. All levels are welcome.

Before you go: Check the day before. Most of these clubs post schedule changes, weather calls, and special events on Instagram, Strava, or Facebook rather than on a website. A ten-second check saves a wasted drive. Arrive ten minutes early. Groups leave on time, and the few minutes before the start are when routes, distances, and pace groups get explained, especially useful on your first visit. Bring water and lights. The evening runs finish after dark for much of the year, and even the sunrise runs start in low light. All paces really means all paces. Every free club on this list welcomes walkers, run-walkers, and first-timers alongside its regulars.

Run club times and meeting spots change from time to time, so confirm on the club’s social pages before heading out.
