Chanukah Lights Up Abacoa This Sunday With Gelt Drop, Music & Family Fun

Abacoa is set to glow a little brighter this Sunday as the community comes together for a spirited Chanukah Festival in Downtown Abacoa. The celebration, running 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., brings families, neighbors, and visitors together for an afternoon packed with tradition, excitement, and one particularly sky-high highlight.

One of the festival’s most anticipated moments returns this year: the Great Helicopter Gelt Drop. Kids gather in the amphitheater lawn as a helicopter swoops overhead, showering the crowd with chocolate gelt—an unmistakably South Florida twist on a classic holiday tradition.

The festival also features a menorah lighting ceremony, live entertainment, bungee jumping, a rock wall, bubbles, balloon creations, and plenty of light-up toys that turn the green into a glowing playground as dusk settles in. Guests can also enjoy free latkes and donuts, adding warm, familiar flavors to the festive atmosphere.
