On November 21st, the Abacoa area will come alive with the unmistakable grooves of Fortunate Youth, Bumpin Uglies, and Josh Heinrichs — a lineup that reads like a reggae-rock festival all by itself.

Southern California’s own Fortunate Youth headlines the night, carrying with them more than a decade’s worth of feel-good rhythm and relentless touring energy. What started as backyard jam sessions in the beach towns of Hermosa and Redondo has grown into one of the most beloved acts in the modern reggae-rock scene. Their mission is as clear as their music is infectious: spread peace, love, and unity.

The sextet blends blues, rock, ska, punk, and world influences into a warm, rootsy sound that’s earned them spots alongside scene giants like Slightly Stoopid, SOJA, and Stick Figure. Known for their explosive live shows and laid-back California charisma, Fortunate Youth brings the kind of communal, hands-in-the-air energy that always plays well on a Florida night.

Sharing the bill are the Bumpin Uglies, a Maryland band built on grit, grind, and a whole lot of hustle. These road warriors spent over a decade crisscrossing the country, working their way from open mics and backyard gigs into festival mainstages and sold-out clubs. When the pandemic tried to pull the plug, frontman Brandon Hardesty pushed even harder — shifting to backyard shows, livestreams, and a wildly ambitious “Never Ending Drop,” releasing a new song every month. Rounding out the night is reggae veteran Josh Heinrichs, one of the genre’s most respected voices.
