718 Café & Grill Brings New York Diner Roots to Tequesta with Grand Opening Celebration

Tequesta is getting a new all-day gathering spot this week as 718 Café & Grill officially opens its doors on Friday, January 9, with an all-day grand opening celebration (see itinerary below).

Inspired by the owners’ upbringing in Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx, 718 Café & Grill channels the spirit of classic New York diners—places built around comfort food, conversation, and community. The name itself is a nod to the iconic 718 area code, honoring the neighborhoods that shaped the restaurant’s concept.

Located at 716 US-1 in Tequesta, the expansive space is designed to serve locals from morning through late evening. Inside, the restaurant offers 221 indoor seats, along with a private dining room for 50–60 guests, ideal for parties, events, and catering. Outside, an open-air tiki lounge and bar transforms the property into a lively nighttime destination, complete with live music and entertainment. The outdoor bar is open daily and will remain open until 11:00 PM on opening night. Guests can also take advantage of Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3:00–7:00 PM.

The menu features a full lineup of diner favorites, including omelets, pancakes, French toast, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, milkshakes, and classic sides, alongside elevated comfort dishes like baklava pancakes and orzo bowls, offering a unique twist on familiar classics.

Grand opening festivities extend beyond the restaurant walls, with a large white tent set up in the parking lot hosting an iced coffee station, beer and wine, water, and local vendors throughout the day. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, guests can browse offerings from local businesses including Storm Chaser Jewelry, Pop Shack 561, JupSeaandSki, Palm Beach Tea, and Olive Tree People.

Raffle giveaways will run all day, featuring prizes from area favorites such as Tide and Table, Moxie’s Salon and Beauty Jupiter, Diamante Skin, and adventure experiences including a jet ski tour for two and paddleboard and kayak rentals. Family-friendly activities include mini golf and cornhole, with a golf simulator available from 5:00–7:00 PM.

Live music will keep the celebration going with RJ Preston performing from 4:00–6:00 PM, followed by Amerikana Band from 6:00–8:00 PM. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with city officials is scheduled for 5:30 PM, marking the official welcome of the newest café and grill in town.

The event is free to attend, and guests are encouraged to RSVP in advance. Whether stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or a late-night drink, 718 Café & Grill aims to become a new neighborhood staple rooted in connection, comfort, and community.
