MANATEE TALES STORY TIME

Families looking for a fun and educational weekend activity can dive into the world of marine life at Manatee Lagoon’s “Manatee Tales: Adventures with Mia & Friends” story time program.

Held every other Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., the free, hour-long program invites young children to explore the wonders of the Lake Worth Lagoon through stories, hands-on activities, and creative play. The experience begins with a kid-friendly walk through the exhibit, where children get an up-close look at the creatures that call the lagoon home.

From there, the group heads into Manatee Lagoon’s newly renovated classroom, transformed into an underwater-themed space designed to spark imagination. Trained Manatee Masters lead story time, sharing tales centered around Mia the Manatee and her animal friends, encouraging curiosity and a love for the natural world.

Each session wraps up with a themed craft inspired by the day’s story, giving kids a chance to get creative while reinforcing what they’ve learned.

The program is open to children ages 3 and up, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Story time is held indoors and meets at the skeleton exhibits behind the welcome desk.

Registration opens 45 days in advance and is required, as seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents are asked to remain with their children throughout the program.

Manatee Tales takes place at Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center®, located at 6000 N. Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach, and is free to attend with advance registration. Due to limited classroom space, strollers must be left outside during story time, and families are encouraged to leave them in their vehicles when possible.
