The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a special production of The Winter’s Tale as part of its annual Shakespeare by the Sea series. This free, outdoor performance takes place over two weekends: July 10–13 and July 17–20, 2025, at the Seabreeze Amphitheater in Carlin Park, Jupiter, Florida.
Performances begin at 8:00 p.m., with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, though a $5 donation per person is suggested to help support the festival.
This year’s production is directed and adapted by Artistic Director Trent Stephens. The play explores powerful themes of jealousy, loss, forgiveness, and redemption. It tells the story of King Leontes, whose unfounded jealousy leads to tragedy for his family and kingdom. Sixteen years later, the story shifts to a more romantic and hopeful tone, following his daughter Perdita’s love story and the eventual reunion and healing of the family.
The production features a strong ensemble cast, including:
Darryl Willis as King Leontes
Carley George as Queen Hermione
Greta Von Unruh as Paulina
Hannah Haley as Perdita
Tristen Hooks as Florizel
Other notable cast members include Max Fonrose, Matthew Paszkiet, Kyler O’Brien, Lee Ritter, Casey McNamara, Kelly Hussey, Todd Masterson, and Keira Harper.
From July 10–13, the audience can enjoy performances by Devon “The Sonnet Man” Glover, who creatively blends Shakespeare’s sonnets with hip-hop music.
On July 12, there will be a special celebration for the Town of Jupiter’s centennial. The first 100 guests will receive a free commemorative T-shirt.
Food trucks will be available on-site:
July 10–13: Little Moir’s Food Shack and Tropical Sno.
July 17–20: Awesome Empanadas.
Guests are encouraged to bring:
Beach chairs or blankets for comfortable seating.
Picnic baskets (outside food and drinks are welcome).
Leashed pets are allowed.
This production is a cherished community event, welcoming both Shakespeare enthusiasts and newcomers to enjoy an evening of live theater under the stars. It reflects the festival’s mission to make Shakespeare accessible and enjoyable for all ages.
