About the Event
Come spend a lively and rewarding morning at Blowing Rocks Preserve during our FREE Stewardship Sunday volunteer event! Join in planting native species and helping maintain the on-site native plant nursery.
✨ This is a fantastic opportunity to earn volunteer hours for school, scholarships, or other community service programs!
Native plants are critical for protecting coastal habitats and supporting local wildlife. During this event, you’ll help transplant nursery-grown natives into the preserve, actively contributing to ecosystem restoration.
Event Details
📍 Location: Meet at the porch of the Hawley Education Center
🕒 Check-in: Between 9:45 AM – 10:00 AM
🌱 Activity: Planting native plants (10:00 AM – 11:45 AM)
🧹 Clean-Up: Final wrap-up (11:45 AM – 12:00 PM)
No experience? No problem!
Everyone is welcome—no prior experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided by The Nature Conservancy.
Additional Info:
Pre-registration is encouraged but not required—walk-ins welcome if space is available.
Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Recommended for ages 8 and up.
What to Bring:
Refillable water bottle
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.)
Bug spray (optional)
Closed-toe shoes suitable for sandy, uneven terrain
