An evening of learning, nature, and relaxation is on tap at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary as the popular Wine Down with Wildlife series returns on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The adults-only event invites guests to unwind with a drink in hand while gaining a deeper understanding of one of Florida’s most important—and often misunderstood—land management tools: fire.

Set against the natural backdrop of the sanctuary’s Jupiter property, the evening centers on an engaging presentation by guest lecturer Jim Schuette, an expert in prescribed fire practices. Attendees will learn how carefully planned prescribed burns play a critical role in maintaining healthy ecosystems—supporting native plant growth, reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfires, and creating sustainable habitats for wildlife.

But this isn’t just a sit-and-listen lecture. In true Busch Wildlife style, the program is interactive and hands-on. Guests will have the unique opportunity to handle a drip torch, the specialized tool used by prescribed burn professionals, and safely experience how ignition techniques work in real-world conservation efforts.
